The reduction of Bi(II1) to Bi(Hg) at the dropping mercury electrode in 0.5 M perchloric acid solution containing O-0.3 M chloride ion becomes increasingly reversible, generally speaking, as the [Cl-]/pi(III)] ratio increases, as evidenced by changes in various criteria used for determining the "rev

β¦ Synopsis
C'Saquochlorotet rammine cobatt(III) ion is irreversibly reduced at the time. Addition of amino acids shifts El/z to more positive potentials, indicating the replacement of water and chlorine at the adjacent co-ordination positions by the amino acids. The shift in El12 follows the order: Iarginine > Flysine > df-valine > a-&nine M glycine.
