The reduction of Bi(II1) to Bi(Hg) at the dropping mercury electrode in 0.5 M perchloric acid solution containing O-0.3 M chloride ion becomes increasingly reversible, generally speaking, as the [Cl-]/pi(III)] ratio increases, as evidenced by changes in various criteria used for determining the "rev

✦ Synopsis
Abslmct-The interaction of monochloro-pentammine cobaltic chloride with different a-amino acids results in the formation of comparatively more stable complexes of the general formula [Co(NH~),(Amino acid)]CII. The composition and stability constants have been determined polarographically. The stability constants of the complexes containing glycine, dl-valine, l-threonine, r&erine and dl-isoleucine are 1.365 x lW, l-191 x lo*, 1.663 x 10, 6.261 x 10' and 2.868 x lo* respectively.
