✦ Synopsis


The molecular weights and isoelectric points of A and B edestin chains data and determination of the Nterminal amino iicids in A and B are listed in Table I.

Experimental investigations have demonstrated that "X" influences the self-assembling process of edestin, promoting enhanced dimer yields, according to SDS-PAAG-electrophoresis results (Fig. 2).

Since there are no free SH-groups in the dimer, "X" may be suggested to be a constituent of the dimer composition 111 their oxidized form, producing an inclusion compound or as a group linked by disulphide bonds with one cit'the chains.
