In this study, it is shown that an electron from photoreduced tris(2,2'-bipyridyl)Ru2+ ion reaches the haem iron of engineered wild-type cytochrome P450 1A2 (P450 1A2) with an electron transfer rate of 6.04 x 10(-3) min(-1). The electron transfer rate, 4.05 x 10(-2) min(-1), of a His163Glu mutant, w
