We report an experimental study of the excitonic spin relaxation dynamics in GaAs/AlGaAs Multiple Quantum Wells (MQW) presenting interface roughness by time and polarization resolved luminescence spectroscopy. The relaxation is found to occur mainly when the excitons are in the free state, before th

β¦ Synopsis
We report the first measurements of the interaction of non-equilibrium phonons with twodimensional exciton gases (2DExGs). The rise in the effective temperature of the 2DExG produced by the phonons depends on the width of the quantum well and the exciton sheet density and hence on the ratio 5 -l (ex-ph)/r-' (ex-ex). The dependence of the effective temperature rise on this ratio is attributed to the non-equilibrium frequency distribution of the phonons incident on the 2DExG.

We report on the effect of photogenerated free carriers on the spectral diffusion and on the LO-phonon Raman scattering of resonantly excited excitons. This is observed by an exciton population redistribution between localized states and by a decrease in the Raman scattering intensity under an extre
