✦ Synopsis

Magnetic shielding properties of thin epitaxial films deposited on different substrates by pulsed laser ablation (PLA) were studied. At high temperatures independently on the substrate material all the films show irreversible behaviour of the magnetic moment M(H) and poor shielding properties. At low temperatures, unlike films deposited on other substrates, films deposited on NdGaO 3 show reversible behaviour of M(H) and much better shielding abilities.

For applications of YBa 2 Cu 3 O 7Γ€x (YBCO) thin films, the critical current density (J c ) should be improved by introducing pinning centers into YBCO thin films. We prepared YBCO films on SrTiO 3 (1 0 0) and MgO(1 0 0) substrates by means of pulsed laser deposition in order to study the flux pinni

We report an investigation of the structural properties of CuCr 0.95 Mg 0.05 O 2 films on c-plane sapphire substrates using pulsed laser deposition. The thin films were grown at different temperatures of 500, 600, and 700 1C with an oxygen partial pressure of 10 mTorr. c-axis oriented epitaxial CuCr
