✦ Synopsis

For applications of YBa 2 Cu 3 O 7Γ€x (YBCO) thin films, the critical current density (J c ) should be improved by introducing pinning centers into YBCO thin films. We prepared YBCO films on SrTiO 3 (1 0 0) and MgO(1 0 0) substrates by means of pulsed laser deposition in order to study the flux pinning properties of the films. The field angle dependence of J c Γ°h; BÞ measured at 77 K, where h is the angle between magnetic field direction and film surface direction, was analyzed by the normalized J c Γ°h; BÞ and the peak component of J c Γ°h; BÞ. We discussed the effects of substrate materials and deposition conditions on the flux pinning behaviors of the YBCO films.
