β¦ Synopsis
Abstract
The present letter concerns the reduction of the global size of a patch antenna by the insertion of printed inductive elements. A transmissionβline model is established to relate to the TM100 mode and support the different elaborations of the reduced patch. The global reduction can reach 50% of the initial size. Along with the theory, a set of experiments have been made to validate the approach.βΒ© 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Microwave Opt Technol Lett 29: 79β81, 2001.

## Abstract The present letter concerns the reduction of the size of a patch antenna by combining two techniques. Inserting slots as inductive loading and making some short points in the middle of a patch excited originally in the TM~001~ mode permits us to obtain an overall reduction of 75%. This
## Abstract The design of a bandwidthβenhanced uniplanar MPA using EBGβAMC is presented. The designed structure with neither via holes nor multilayer substrates yields bandwidth enhancement still with useful radiation pattern values in its band. Two prototypes, a MPA and a PA with uniplanar EBGβAMC
Interruptions in the regular lattice of a phased array antenna can lead to elevated sidelobe levels in the resulting antenna pattern. A method for reducing the sidelobe level in such an array is presented, based on the use of a genetic algorithm that modifies the element weights in the array. Result
## Abstract Numerical and experimental study of the effect of the ground plane size on radiation pattern of microstrip antenna on thick substrate is presented in the article. First the results of simulations and measurements of reference microstrip antenna are shown. Next the ground plane sizes wer
