Earlier we advanced the hypothesis that the anodic corrosion of lead in sulphuric acid solution occurs as a result of atomic oxygen penetration through the layer of lead dioxide towards the metal. To substantiate the hypothesis, it is desirable to ascertain directly the possibility of a fast enough

โฆ Synopsis
LEAD dioxide electrodeposited on graphite substrate1 has been investigated in detail as anode for the preparation of organic**8 and inorgani&'i compounds in this laboratory. In view of the interesting results obtained at this anode, it appeared worthwhile to determine the oxygen overpotential upon it. The results obtained are presented below.
