A February 1W4, I was enjoying some casual coffee-break conversation when I spotted an old acquaintance from the gas business. When I mentioned that I was still working out the kinks from Order 636, this "noted authority" on the North American natural gas industry said, "Six thirty-six is over. You can't put Humpty Dumpty back together again." How odd, I thought. Here was a person touted at the conference as an industry expert, yet he thought that Order 636 and all its ramifications were dead issues. To my mind, little could be farther from the truth. The long-term force and effects of Order 636 are here to stay. There are several important arenas where Order 636 lives on.
