Optical properties of the itinerant antiferromagnetic and ferromagnetic instability in Re-doped URu2Si2

✦ Synopsis

We have conducted optical investigations on the URuz-xRexSi2 (0 < x < 0.8) system, in order to determine the absorption spectrum with respect to the magnetic ground state as x is varied. In the antiferr0magnetic phase (x < 0.1), we clearly have evidence for a gap-like feature in the absorption spectra. On the other hand, this feature disappears for the ferromagnetic ground state (x > 0.4).
