✦ Synopsis
A new catalytic system for highly selective oxidation of saturated hydrocarbons into ketones is described. This system is based on the combination offerrous picolinate (or l,lOphenanthroline 2-carboqylate) and H202 in pyridine sohuion.Under these conditions cyclohexane gave mabdy cyclohmanone (90% ,22-28% yield based on H202 ) and minor amounts qf cyclohexanol .

Proteins can enhance the chemiluminescence (CL) intensity of the 1,10-phenanthroline-H 2 O 2cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTMAB)-Cu(II) system because unsaturated complexes of Cu(II) with protein have a much stronger catalytic effect on the CL reaction than does Cu(II). On this basis, a new flow i
The oxidation of Fe(II) at nanomolar levels with O 2 , H 2 O 2 and their mixtures has been studied and a kinetic model has been applied to describe the experimental results. A first order pH dependence is obtained when the H 2 O 2 controls the oxidation, due to the large contributions of FeOH + and
