The results of INDO calculations do not support the discovery of the I-i30 free radical\_ Recently Martin and Swift [I ] came to the conelusion that they had clearly demonstrated "the first direct and unequivocal evidence for the hydronium radical" H,O. β¦ Synopsis
A previous report of the discovery of the EPR spectrum of H30 in UV-irradiated p~rch.!oric acid glass has been reinvestigated. The EPR spectrum previously assigned to H$Il has been compzued with an authentic spectrum of CH3 and has been found to be identical within experimental error in hyperfine splitting, g-factor, tineshape and linewidth. It is concinded that the existence of H30 has not yet been expedmenttiy demonstrated.

A general quantum-mechanical protocol recently introduced for the theoretical study of non-rigid radicals has been used in the investigation of the structure, inversion rate, and EPR spectrum of the cyclopropyl radical. The results are in close agreement with experiment and can be interpreted in ter
