โœฆ Synopsis

Inner-shell singlet-triplet transitions in CO1 and NzO have been observed by the electron energy-loss technique at low values of the incident electron energy, typically 1.4 times the excitation energies of the states. The same technique has been used to observe fine structure in transitions near the M4 5 edges in Kr and the N4 5 edges in Xe.

The high-resolution ( ~0.1 eV) inner valence photoelectron spectra of N2 and CO, with the binding energy in the 29-42 eV region are reported. The electronic structure and radiative/non-radiative decay processes in the inner-shell excitation of B 2 O 3 were investigated using soft x-ray emission and photoelectron spectroscopy. Based on density of states calculations, the electronic structure of B 2 O 3 as probed by x-ray emission spectrosc
