The molecules of the title complex, Et 3 PAu[SC(OMe) N-(C 6 H 4 Cl-4)] or [Au(C 8 H 7 ClNOS)(C 6 H 15 P)], involve the Au atom with linear coordination [Au-P = 2.2584 (10) A ˚, Au-S = 2.3156 (10)A ˚and P-Au-S = 178.32 (4) ] and are linked into centrosymmetric dimers via secondary AuÁ Á ÁS interactions [3.7616 (11) A ˚].
