✦ Synopsis
The solid state phase behavior of hydroquinone 1 with bis-(N,Ndiethyl)bicyclo[2.2.2]octane-1,4-dicarboxamide (4) and with bis-(N,N-dimethyl)bicyclo[2.2.2]octane-1,4-dicarboxamide (5) has been investigated. A 1:1 complex, 6, exists with hydroquinone and the diethyl derivative 4. A 1:2 complex, 7, and a 2:1 complex, 8, is formed with hydroquinone and the dimethyl derivative, 5. X-ray structure determinations of these cocrystals have been performed and the role of the alkyl side chains in the crystal packing is discussed.

The dinuclear title molecule, [Cd~2~(C~12~H~22~O~2~PS~2~)~4~(C~6~H~12~N~2~)], is disordered and located on a centre of inversion, and features a coordination geometry intermediate between square-pyramidal and trigonal-bipyramidal.
