## Abstract Chinese hamster cells (line CHO) were cloned in suspension with a carboxymethylcellulose‐containing medium, and the colonies were counted with an electronic particle counter after enzymatically degrading the carboxymethylcellulose with cellulase. Survival of x‐irradiated cells was deter
