We recently reported (1) on the reactions of substitp ted acetylenes with allylic halides and nickel carbonyl in acetone-water at room tenperoture and atmospheric pressure.

Unsaturated ketones and lactones derived fror! cyclopentenones and cyclchexenones were obtained.
