β¦ Synopsis
In the present work the single-temperature and single-velocity model is presented to investigate numerically combustion processes and gas aerosol extinction in a compartment. An agreement is obtained between calculated and experimental data in time it takes for the extingusihing concentration to reach a gas aerosol composition on extinguishing of ethanol and heptane in experimental chambers.

## Abstract Alpert's expressions are used extensively to calculate the maximum temperature and velocity in the ceilingβjet at any distance, __r__, from the fire axis. These expressions are valid for unconfined ceilings insofar as the environment outside the ceilingβjet is uniform in temperature and
From the standpoint that the strict estimation of heat released in an enclosure is important to simulate enclosure fires, a new mathematical model involving the combustion efficiency, the temperature dependence of heat capacities, and the composition of burnt gas has been developed. The calculated r
A series of analyses, accounting for the effects of tensile membrane action in the concrete slabs, has been performed on a large generic composite floor under fire conditions, using different patterns of fire protection for the steel beams. These demonstrate that it may often be possible to leave a
