Recent developments in micromachining techniques at the University of Michigan have resulted in novel high-performance low-loss filters for microwave and millimeter-wave applications. The idea is based on suspending the filters on thin dielectric membranes to eliminate dielectric loss and dispersion

β¦ Synopsis
This article describes the essential features of the transmission-line modeling (TLM)
technique and its application to the simulation of the behavior of microwave circuits. Emphasis is placed on presenting the general modeling approach and developments to the model to deal with practical microwave problems. Computational techniques and requirements are discussed with reference to dispersion, coarseness errors, and infinite boundaries.

## Abstract The TLM algorithm is of high interest to simulate new integrated optical devices as a βphotonic band gapβ (PBG) structures. These components are realized with semiconductor material and constituted by a set of abrupt optical discontinuities. The electromagnetic behaviour of these struct
Neural networks found significant applications in microwave CAD. In this paper, after providing a brief description of neural networks employed so far in this context, we illustrate some of their most significant applications and typical issues arising in practical implementation. We also summarize
Neural networks were developed into a computer-aided approach designing microwave circuits. Researchers replaced device models with faster neural network models in microwave design, however, other ingredients of the design process remain unchanged. Our research explored two neural network applicatio
