Using sesame water culture and various doses of Dimethoate, no mycelial growth appeared in cultures at rate above 5 ppm. There was no appreciable effect of the low dose of the insecticide (2.5 ppm) when incorporated into water cultures on vegetative growth, asexual and sexual sporulation of all test

β¦ Synopsis
Twelve isolates of zoosporic fungi belonging to four species (three isolates each) of the genus Suprolegniu were tested for progesterone biotransformation. The three isolates tested of each of S. hypogynu and S. purusificu have the capacity to perform oxidative splitting of the side chain of progesterone with the formation of A4 androstene-3,17 dione, testosterone and testololactone. All the isolates tested of S. diclinu and S. furcutu failed to transform progesterone molecule into another steroid derivative. The chromatographic resolution of the mixture products obtained when S. hypogynu (isolate No. 1008-2) had acted on one gram progesterone revealed the presence of 15% unchanged progesterone, 25% A4-androstene-3, 17dione, 25% testosterone and 35% testololactone.

## Abstract Thirtyβnine species belonging to 13 genera of zoosporic fungi were collected from 33 water samples on sesame and hemp seeds as baits at 22 Β°C. Five genera were isolated in high occurrence: __Allomyces__ (2 species), __Achlya__ (9 species), __Dictyuchus__ (4 species), __Pythium__ (5 spec
A systematic study of transformation reactions of the genus Streptomyces with respect to the progesterone molecule was undertaken. The types of transformation reactions by different Streptomyces species were evaluated from the point of view of taxonomy. The isolates tested were divided according to
