The quantum reflection pole method (QRPM) is introduced for determining quasibound state eigenenergies and their lifetimes in symmetric, asymmetric, biased, and unbiased quantum heterostructures. In the QRPM the single-band effective-mass Schrödinger equation is solved without using complex arithmet
