## Abstract Bacterial poly(hydroxyalkanoates) (PHAs) vary in the composition of their monomeric units. Besides saturated sideโchains, unsaturated ones can also be found. The latter leads to unwanted byโproducts (THF ester, secondary alcohols) during acidic cleavage of the polymer backbone in the co
