Abstract
The low‐temperature dc and ac magnetic measurements of Fe(III)–crosslinked chitosan complexes are reported. The results obtained indicate a complex magnetic structure in which strong antiferromagnetic interactions coexist with weak ferromagnetism. Fe‐chitosan exhibits features of a glassy state as well as canted antiferromagnetism and its low temperature collective magnetic behaviour can result from the coexistence of these two types of ordering. Proton line width was used as a direct parameter of local mobility during swelling. Th
