✦ Synopsis
Liietimes have been measured for the 2 and n vibronic x 'A1 stites of ti2.V by studying the deczy cures of the i 'A1 (0, vi, 0) -2 '91 (0, I&', 0) emission bands. The vibronic x *Al states arc produced via escitrtion of H;?S molecules by 150 eV electrons. The C sublevels 1 Q u> =G 7 and the 11 sublevels 3 c u; ;(r 6 hwe been considered. Predissociation occurs in the r sublevels for U' z 2 7 and in the n sublevels for u; 2 6. The obtained radiative lifetimes for the non-prcdissociatcd Z and II sublevels are around 1.2(*0.4) X 10d sand 5.6(*0.5) 2: lo6 lI(O,6,0) levels the corresponding lifetimes are 2.3(+0.3) X 10d s respectively. For the predissocinted X(0, 7,0) and s and 1.6(%0.3)
x 10% s respectively. The rate constant for collisional deactivation (quenching) of the vibronic x 'A1 states by H2S molecules ~2s found to equal X3(*0.3) X 10") cm3 mol-' s-'

The picosecond fluorimetry technique is used to determine directly the short lifetimes of metatloporphyrin (rr. rr\*) states. The Sr + Se and Sa + Se fluorescence of Cd and Lu tetrabenzoporphyrins is studied. For completeness, Zn tetrabenzoporphyrin fluorescence is dealt with using more traditional
Diabatic 1 'A" and 2 'A" states have been generated for \*tie H2S molecule, along a local mode of asymmetric dissociation. The calculations obtain a bound 1 'A" state crossing a repulsive 2 'A" state, with a Landau-Zoner probability of transition between them of 99%, in accord with recent analyses o
Model potential calculations of the B r Du-X r xz transition dipole moment are used in conjunction with the empirica potential energy curves of Vidal and Hessel to calc&te the radiative lifetimes of the vibrational levels of the B r Du state. The lifetimes are nearly independent of the vibrational q
We present a theoretical calculation of predissociation lifetimes for the vibrational levels of the H2 molecule in the 2 311a state. Our results predict that vibrational lifetimes decrease with t, up to u= 8 and then remain practically constant. Agreement with available experimental data is good. Fi
