The methanol extract obtained from the fruits of Cassia fistula L. inhibited the 5-lipoxygenase catalysed formation of leukotriene B 4 in bovine polymorphonuclear leukocytes with an IC 50 value of 38 mg/mL. Also, lipid peroxidation in bovine brain phospholipid liposomes induced with 2,2'-azo-bis-(2-
