โฆ Synopsis
Iso-CpH,S radicals were generated by 248 nm photodissociation of i-&H,SH and laser-induced fluorescence of the A-2 transition was studied in the 395-435 nm region. A prominent series of bands in the excitation spectrum is interpreted as transitions to levels of the C-S stretching mode in the excited state, which has a frequency of 347 k 10 cm-'. Based on an expected radiative lifetime of about 800 ns, the observed zero-pressure lifetime of FZ 120 ns suggests that all of the vibrational levels of the A state are strongly predissociated. Electronic quenching of i-C3H7S(A) is observed for a variety of collision partners.
