The gas-phase hser-induced fh~orcscence -excitation spectrum of dichlorocarbene (CC%) has been observed in the 498-534 nm spectral region. Suftick;; resolution has been obtained to partially resolve the band structure arising from the symmetrical stretching and bending vibrations. which leads to vibwtional pnrameters for these modes.
π SIMILAR VOLUMES
The fluorescence of CFCl and CC12 excited by a tunable dye laser has been observed in the gas phase. The radiative lifetimes are 644 f 18 and 3810 i 300 ns respectively consistent with matrix results. The quenching rate ofCCl2 is greater than for CpCl and varies with the wavelength of excitation.
A high-resolution laser excitation spectrum of the 0: band of OcS+ (A zIII, c, w 2II,) has been obtained in a dscbarge flow apparatus. Rotational analysis yields the constants (cm-') of \*aO\*2C32St: voo = 31404.099(7), BA(;) = 0.18718(13), B;(s) = 0.19477(9).
