β¦ Synopsis
Most recent experimental and theoretical work on large deformation and fracture behaviour of gels has focused on fracture stress and strain. Other parameters characterlzinq fracture behaviour, such as fracture energy and inherent defect length, were much less studied. Progress has been made in the development of theories relating fracture stress and strain to gel matrix structure.
