## Abstract ## Objective The protein deacetylase SirT1 positively regulates cartilage‐specific gene expression, while the proinflammatory cytokine tumor necrosis factor α (TNFα) negatively regulates these same genes. This study was undertaken to test the hypothesis that SirT1 is adversely affected
