The isomers 6‐methyl‐2‐propionyl‐ and 3‐methyl‐2‐propionylbenzoic acid were synthesized and separated by DCC (droplet counter‐current) chromatography. The crystal structure analyses showed that these compounds are hydroxylactones in the solid state.
