The gas-phase clustering reactions of SF~, SF 6 and F-ions with SF 6 were measured using a high-pressure mass spectrometer. The bond energies of SFs--(SF6) 1 and SF6(SF6) 1 were estimated to be ~< 2.3 kcal/mol. The bond energies of F-(SF6) , with n = 1 and 2 were determined to be 5.4 and = 4.1 kcal/
Resolved r9F NMR lineshapes have been observed for powder samples of the sulphur hexafluoride deuteroclathrate hydrate at 4.2"K and tower temperatures. By comparison with computer simulated spectra we postulate that a distribution of correlation times exists in this system and that there is a rs'F c
The far infrared spectrum of dilute solutions of HCl and DC1 dissolved in liquid SF6 at OยฐC is observed in the frequency region 30 cm-1 to 230 cm-l. A broad absorption band is obtained for DC1 which is in excellent agreement with the band envelope defined by the relative integrated intensity of each
