โœฆ Synopsis

Abstract

Rates of thermal gasโ€phase elimination of eleven 2โ€aryloxyacetic acid have been measured over a 45ยฐC temperature range for each compound. Hammett correlation of the present kinetic data with the literature ฯƒ^0^ values of the given substituents gave a reaction ฯ constant of 0.69 at 600 K; this is more than that for the gasโ€phase elimination parameter of 2โ€aryloxypropanoic acid (ฯ = 0.26) and consistent with a transition state with some charge separation, suggesting a partial formation of carbocation. The implications of this observation for the thermal gasโ€phase elimination of ฮฑโ€aryloxycarboxylic acids are considered. ยฉ 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Int J Chem Kinet 33: 612โ€“616, 2001

The kinetics of the gas phase elimination of 2-bromo-2-butene were determined in a static system over the temperature range of 340-380ยฐC and pressure range of 37-134 torr. The reaction in seasoned vessels, even in the presence of a free radical inhibitor, is catalyzed by hydrogen bromide. Under maxi

Flash Vacuum Pyrolysis of (a-phenylethyl) and (P-phenylethy1)-pyrazole were studied. Pyrazole and Styrene were found as only products of both reactions. The kinetic parameters obtained reinforce the results previously found about the poor influence of the substitutents on the LY and p carbons of the
