## Abstract The kinetics of the reactions of iron(III) with diglycolic, tartaric, and citric acids have been studied in aqueous acid solutions by the temperature‐jump method at 25.0Β°C and at ionic strengths 1.0 (for tartaric and citric acids) and 0.50 mol/dm^3^ (for diglycolic acid). ## Abstract The kinetics of tartaric acid oxidation by peroxodisulphate ion has been studied to elucidate the mechanism of oxidation. Uncommon to many peroxodisulphate reactions it shows a variation in order. It is found to progress bimolecularly in the beginning and unimolecularly till completion.
