β¦ Synopsis
In cell free extracts prepared from protoplasts of n-tetradecane grown cells of Candida tropicalis we have found an ATP and NAD+ dependent alkane-dehydrogenase, an alcohol-dehydrogenase, an aldehyde-dehydrogenase and acyl-CoA synthetases. The study of these enzymes and their regulation allows us to propose a scheme of degradation of n-decane.

## Degradation of phenolic compounds by the yeast Candida tropicalis HP 15 11, Some properties of the first two enzymes of the degradation pathway
Yeasts have been known to giow at the expense of n-paraffins for a number of years (TAUSSON 1939). It is generally accepted that the alkane is mainly metabolized through the corresponding primary alcohol, aldehyde and fatty acid. The enzymes involved in this pathway are adaptative or constitutive de
