We isolated a rice cDNA clone which encodes an open reading frame of 382 amino acids. Its deduced amino acid sequence corresponds to an ATP/ADP translocator protein. Its homology with a maize ATP/ADP translocator was 83.9~/o in nucleotide sequence, and 90.2~o of the amino acid level. Expression of t

β¦ Synopsis
We have isolated and sequenced a MAP (mitogen-activated protein) kinase-type cDNA from a tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum L.) cell suspension cDNA library by screening with a PCR fragment amplified from the same library with oligonucleotide primers corresponding to two sequences conserved in yeast and animal MAP kinases. The tobacco sequence, ntf3, shows 45-54~o identity to various members of the MAP kinase family at the protein level. Northern experiments showed that ntf3 is expressed in all tobacco tissues tested, including pollen isolated at different developmental stages. Southern analysis indicated that, as in other organisms, there is a family of MAP kinase genes in tobacco. In complementary tests, ntf3 could not substitute the yeast MAP kinase genes fus3 and kssl.

We have isolated the full-length human 56 kDa selenium binding protein (hSP56) cDNA clone, which is the human homolog of mouse 56 kDa selenium binding protein. The cDNA is 1,668 bp long and has an open reading frame encoding 472 amino acids. The calculated molecular weight is 52.25 kDa and the estim
Phytolacca anti-viral protein (PAP) was purified from Phytolacca leaves and the N-terminal was sequenced. A cDNA library was made from mRNAs isolated from Phytolacca leaves and cDNA clones for PAP were identified using oligonucleotide probes derived from the N-terminal amino acid sequence. The PAP-c
A cDNA clone, LMP 131A, which is preferentially expressed in mature anther was isolated from a lily cDNA library. Northern blot analysis and plaque hybridization experiments showed that the LMP131A m R N A is present at ca. 0.3 ~o of the m R N A in mature pollen and is not detectable in carpel, peta
A full-length cDNA clone encoding a sulfur-rich Coix prolamin was isolated using a eDNA library constructed from polysomal mRNA prepared from immature Coix endosperm. The deduced amino acid sequence of the eDNA clone predicted a polypeptide of 194 residues, which shared 64~o homology with the 17 kDa
