✦ Synopsis

Saccharomyces cerevisiae hisl trp2 resistant to acriflavine and able to ferment galactose and of Saccharomyces fermentati arg resistant to DL-pfluorophenylalanine and able to ferment lactose were fused. As a result of fusion two types of prototrophic hybrids were obtained. Type 1 hybrids were able to grow on me dium with galactose or lactose as sole carbon source and were sensitive to acriflavine and resistant to DL-pfiuorophenylalanine. Type 2 hybrids were able to grow on medium with galactose as sole carbon source and were resistant to acriflavine and sensitive to DL-p-fluorophenylalanine.
