โฆ Synopsis
Abstract
A shorted patch antenna suitable for application in the sliding mobile phone as an internal antenna is presented. The shorted patch antenna is mounted at the bottom end of the lower ground plane of the mobile phone, and can generate a wide operating band for UMTS (1920โ2170 MHz) operation in the talk condition (the mobile phone is slid open for use). In addition, when the mobile phone is in the standby condition (not slid open), the antenna can still provide acceptable impedance matching for operating frequencies over the UMTS band. Details of the antenna design are described, and experimental results of a constructed prototype are presented. ยฉ 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. ## Abstract In this paper, we design and fabricate a broadband interiorโtype planar monopole with an omnidirectional radiation pattern over a wide operation band using a slanted feeding shape. It has a measured 10โdB impedance bandwidth of about 670 MHz (1585โ2255 MHz) covering the DCS (digital cor
## Abstract By using the upper and lower ground planes of a folderโtype mobile phone, a novel internal shorted dipole antenna for digital television (DTV) signal reception in the 470โ806โMHz band is presented. The shorted dipole antenna further comprises an internal matching circuit, which includes
