Abstract
Driftβwave turbulence in the linear VINETA [1] device was studied using the adapted version [2] of the threedimensional gyrofluid code GEM3 [3]. The density and parallel velocity gyrofluid equations of electrons and ions for the cylindrical annulus are solved. It is shown that the code is able to reproduce the main experimental signatures of intermittency. The influence of the interaction of the plasma with neutrals β the soβcalled βneutral windβ β on the intermittent turbulence in VINETA is discussed. (Β© 2008 WILEYβVCH Verlag GmbH & Co. In this paper, we consider spatial intermittency in classical two-dimensional and geostrophic turbulence. Intermittency corrections to the scaling behavior in the inertial ranges are first deduced and then extrapolated down to the Kraichnan microscale. In the geostrophic case, particular emphasis is
The review contains the principal results of the theoretical investigations of the edge turbulence in tokamaks, stellarators and mirror machines. Different models based on the dissipation due to Coulomb collisions were developed to explain the edge turbulence. For example, the rippling instability
## Abstract This article describes briefly recent results on the universality of intermittent convective transport reported in the scrapeβoff layer. We show that the statistical properties of turbulence are identical for four different magnetic fusion devices. The four devices are the PISCES linear
