Direct measurements of scattering cross sections for NHs in well-defined quantum states are made using a molcrular beam maser spectrometer. Cross sections are compared for a pure inversion state with those for a coherent superposition state for scattering gases He, Ar, Nz, N20, NHa, CFgH and CHaCN.T

A new approach is described for obtaining absolute electron-impact cross sections for ionization, including the partial cross sections for multiple charge excitation and ion dissociation. The method benefits from the use of a supersonic molecular beam, pulsed ion source, and multichannel mass detect
Differential cross sectiona for the scattering of N3 (velocity selected beam) by Ar (nozzle beam) were measured at different kinetic energies in the range E = 7.73 -15.6 x lo-14 erg. r?om the rainbow scattering the well depths = 1.63 -L 0.15 x lo-14 erg has been deduced for an assumed L.-J. Total seaterang cross section for argon on argon obtaned wish a frce jet molecular beam shows a source pressure dependence Πrom this dependence the concentration of dimer in the beam can be determined. The results are in good agreement with mass spectrometric measurements
IR predissociation spectra of SiF4 and CF-,Br clusters have been studied by attenuating a molecular beam with a Linetunable cw CO\* laser. The (SiFa)z dimer dissociation spectrum of the three-folddegenerate y3 spectrum behaves sirntily to that of (SF&, and permitted the determination of the linewidt
