Calcium atoms have been reacted with NO and NO2 upon condensation at high dilution in argon at 15 K. Infrared absorptions at 1357 and 455 cm-\* show appropriate isotopic shifts to be due to @I -O)-and Caf -(NO)-viirations in the Ca%O-species. A strong band at 1244 cm-l is due to YJ of NO; in the Ca?
