IR predissociation spectra of SiF4 and CF-,Br clusters have been studied by attenuating a molecular beam with a Linetunable cw CO\* laser. The (SiFa)z dimer dissociation spectrum of the three-folddegenerate y3 spectrum behaves sirntily to that of (SF&, and permitted the determination of the linewidt

β¦ Synopsis
The infrared absorption specmum of the hydrogen-bonded water dimer, (HzO)z, formed in a supersonic eapansion, was recorded in the region of the OH stretch by monitor@ the predissociation resulting from the absorption of the radiation. The conditions were such that there was minimal contribution to the observed spectrum from higher water polymers. The observed features show considerable structure, with widths that appear to be limited by the optical resolution of 2 cm-'_ A combination band of the OH stretch with the uater bend and an overtone of the bend@ vibration were also observed.
