✦ Synopsis
Kl'ceivcd 27 Junr 1963 Evidenrc 15 prc3cntcd \Irich indicates rhat the vibrational prcdissociation of pyrimidine clusters leads primarily* to the production of rotationally very hot S1 pyrimidines in their zero-point vibrational levels. Thegeneration of vibrationless Sr pyrimidinc is an indktion of statisti energ>* pxtioninp. and it contrasts the pattern of energy partitioning observed in the vi\xarional predisocirttion of tetrazinc-argon van der Wadis compleses. The tendency of the pyrimidine clusters to follow st&stical-like cncr~p p.utitioninz is attributed to the seater numbers and reduced frequencies of van der WVartls modes of the ciuxters r&tive to those of the complex.
