β¦ Synopsis
Bis(trifluoromethy1) peroxide is readily dissociated by multiple infrared photon excitation at COz laser wavelengths. The primary dissociation product is CF30; approximately 85% of the nascent radicals are further dissociated in the laser field to form CFzO and F. The F atoms then react with the remaining CF30 to produce CF30F. The formation of CF3OF is strongly inhibited by addition of HI, which reacts preferentially with the F atoms.

## Abstract The literature results for the pyrolysis of bis trifluoromethyl peroxide are reexamined and compared with those for dimethyl peroxide. The thermochemistry yields the result that the Οβbond energy in carbonyl fluoride is 96 Β± 10 kcal/mol compared to 74 kcal/mol for that in formaldehyde.
## Abstract The photochemical behaviour of the title compound **1a** is compared to that of the nonβfluorinated parent ketone 2βmethylcyclohexanone (**1b**). Substitution of the CH~3~β group on C(2) by a trifluoromethyl group strongly enhances __2H__β and __RH__β reduction product formation in cycl
## Abstract The decomposition of cyclobutyl chloride following multiple infraredphoton excitation has been investigated. The primary photolysis products are butadiene, from elimination of HCl, and ethylene and vinyl chloride, fromring scission. The vinyl chloride undergoes secondary decomposition t
