The formation of an apatite-like layer was achieved by immersing Ti-6Al-4V, Ti-Al-2.5Fe, and 316 L stainless-steel substrata in Hank's balanced salt solution (HBSS). The layer was characterized by surface analysis techniques, namely, X-ray microanalysis and X-ray diffraction, and the morphology was

Abstract
In this paper the relevant mechanical and optical measuring methods (mech. Profilometry, waveβscan, Autospect) for studying the surface structure of painted and unpainted samples will be presented. The various methods were discussed and compared in the first part of the paper, while in a second part an example concerning the influence of substrate roughness and baking position on the final topcoat structure will be given. A third part presents a study on deformed and undeformed substrates of different sheet type and the effect on topcoat appearance. In addition, a comparison of two paint systems will be shown.

## Abstract Hydroxylapatite (HA) is one of the most important materials for human hard tissue implants. Until now, HA coatings are widely deposited on implants using atmospheric plasma spraying (APS). Due to the decomposition of HA and formation of amorphous phase during spraying, the crystallinity
Thin films of tin selenide (SnSe) were deposited on sodalime glass substrates, which were held at different temperatures in the range of 350-550 K, from the pulverized compound material using thermal evaporation method. The effect of substrate temperature (T s ) on the structural, morphological, opt
We have studied ZnSe films grown on ZnTe (001) substrate by using MBE method. The surface reconstruction of ZnSe is investigated systematically by RHEED. The Zn beam irradiation during thermal cleaning was done to suppress the desorption of Zn atoms from ZnTe substrate. The 3D growth occurs at initi
