## Abstract Nerve growth factor (NGF), epidermal growth factor (EGF), adenosine 3β²,5β²βcyclic monophosphate (cAMP), and cholera toxin all increase the specific activity of ornithine decarboxylase (ODC) in the PC12 nerveβlike cell line. A phosphodiesterase inhibitor augments the effect of NGF on the

β¦ Synopsis
Chromatin-associated and cytosolic ornithine decarboxylase (ODC) of corn and bean plants was differentially increased by four growth regulators, gibberellic acid, benzyladenine, $-indoleacetic acid and abscisic acid . The increases occasioned by these substances was more profound in the roots, especially in the chromatin fraction . The maximal increase of chromatin-associated ODC activity was four-to five-fold, while the increase of cytosolic ODC activity was two-fold .

The effect of topical application of PGE on induction of ODC in mouse epidermis was measured. When direct induction of ODC by TPA was blocked by also applying indomethacin, maximum ODC activity occurred only when PGE was applied simultaneously with TPA 4% hr before killing of the mice. If either TPA
Sodium arsenite proved effective in preventing the induction of ornithine decarboxylase (ODC) activity elicited by dilution of Friend erythroleukemia cells in fresh medium. A 50 per cent inhibition was produced at approximately 1 p~ arsenite and complete inhibition was obtained at concentrations abo
