## Abstract We describe an iterative procedure that, for a given antenna array, allows to determine a radiation pattern belonging to a prescribed mask while the radiated field vanishes in assigned points located in the near‐field region and close each other, so as to reduce the field in a neighborh

✦ Synopsis
Abstract
This article presents a new procedure for the synthesis of array antennas mounted over complex vehicular platforms, where an accurate control of the electromagnetic interference and disturbances (EMI) between systems is required. This is done by including into the overall optimization procedure near‐field restrictions over those regions of the platform where sensitive devices are installed. The electromagnetic coupling between the radiating systems and with the platform is modeled by an accurate three‐dimensional method‐of‐moments formulation. © 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. ## Abstract The resonant loop antenna is examined in terms of its near‐field behaviour. It is shown that the near‐field wave‐impedance varies considerably across the loop diameter. This has a significant effect on the matching to the human body and specific absorption rate. An uneven SAR distributi
