β¦ Synopsis
The colony-inhibition test has been iised to demonstrate cellular imrriirnity against spontaneous murine mammary tumors, both in autochthonous, manimury tumor virus (MTV)-carrying BALBIcfC3N arid in ininiutiized, MTV-fret, BALBIc mice. Immunity could be demonstrated in nearly all cases against a niamniary tumor with lymph-node cells from mice which had experienced that tumor.
One of eight tumors tested with lymph-node cells from BALBIcfC3H mice which hut1 spontaneously developed mammary tumors showed evidence of ininiunological cross-reactivity, while seven of thirteen tumors did so wheti tested with ininiiinc~ cell.s from MTV-free BALBIc mice. The data, therryore, indicate the presence of at least two types of tumor-specific antigen(s) in niouse nianimary tumors -a coninion one and an antigen specific for each tzeoplasni.
