## Abstract The expression of gamma‐glutamyltranspeptidase (gamma‐GTP) and the relationship between this enzyme activity and tumorigenicity were studied in 38 tumorigenic and non‐tumorigenic epithelial cell lines derived from livers of normal and aminoazo‐dye‐fed rats. Nine of 22 non‐tumorigenic ep

Abstract
Using an__in vitro__model for cell transformation, the relationship between specific chromosomal aberration and phenotypic changes was studied at different passages of Rat‐2 cell line. A marker chromosome resulting from a translocation [t(2;7)] was found to be associated with focus formation in soft agar. Conversely, the loss of this marker chromosome was found to be associated with phenotypic reversion. These results suggest an association of this marker chromosome with phenotypic transformation for the Rat‐cell line.

The neurofibromatosis 2 (NF2) tumor suppressor gene was recently implicated in the genesis of human mesothelioma. To investigate the role of this tumor suppressor gene in rat asbestos-induced mesothelioma, a commonly used model for the human disease, we characterized the rat homologue of NF2 and exa

The cyclin kinase inhibitor p16, encoded by the CDKN2A gene, suppresses the transformation of mouse embryonic fibroblasts by oncogenic RAS. In contrast, the c-JUN transcription factor (a major component of AP-1) has been suggested to be required for RAS transformation of rodent fibroblasts. The CDKN
