For the first time in our knowledge we have observed and studied self-pulsing in an all-fiber laser based on heavily Ho-doped fiber. The laser operated in stable pulse regime with a repetition rate up to 600 kHz. Minimum pulse duration was of 200 ns; peak power achieved 25 W. Frequency, kHz

β¦ Synopsis
We have made and studied a set of the fiber lasers based on Ho-doped fiber with high concentration of the active ions. For the first time the spectral efficiency in a range of 2.02 -2.15 ΞΌm was determined. The highest output power of 4.2 W was detected at 2.1 ΞΌm with the efficiency slope of 34%. This value of the efficiency is highest for pure holmium-doped silica fibers.

## Abstract An actively modeβlocked fiber laser (AMLFL) based on the hybrid gain of a dispersionβshifted fiber (as the Raman gain medium) and an Erbiumβdoped fiber (EDF) is introduced. The fiber Raman gain mechanism can effectively suppress the gain competition of an EDF, which usually results into
## Abstract A novel interrogation of fiber Bragg grating (FBG) in a strain sensor, which is based on Erβdoped fiber laser's transient regime, is reported. The applied strain on FBG changes the laser cavity loss, which in turn modifies the laser's transient regime. The strain value can be obtained b
We have realized and studied the fiber laser based on 4-core Yb-doped fiber and multimode Bragg grating as the input reflector. The lasing efficiency slope of 55% was measured. An investigation of the output emission has shown that the far-field pattern constitutes an interference picture. That allo
## Abstract We propose and experimentally demonstrate a multiwavelength erbiumβdoped fiber ring laser using a fiber Sagnac loop filter. The fiber Sagnac loop filter served as the wavelength selection component within the ring laser cavity. By carefully tuning the setting of the polarization control
In this paper, a multiwavelength erbium-doped fiber laser based on a microstructure fiber Bragg grating (FBG) is proposed and demonstrated. The fiber Bragg grating is fabricated in a large-air-hole microstructure optical fiber using the phase-mask method. The laser based on this novel grating can be
